Dearer Mr. Chang, my name is Tracy and I just had an emotional moment. I lost my mother in 2017 to cancer and I just found a pair of her gloves and they are yours, I remember them from when I was little; she used to wear them all the time, I'm not sure how old they are but I wanted to thank you for creating memories between mothers and daughters. Every fall and winter these beautiful red leather gloves would come out and I always loved them and now I found them and they are mine, so thank you sir so very much.

Is there anywhere I can purchase your Swimwear Solutions at this time of year? Winners and Marshall’s don’t have any bathing suits until 2025.

The Simon Chang Solutions swimwear collection is produced exclusively for Winners and Marshalls. Unfortunately, there are no other places to purchase the swimwear. The new swimwear collection normally begins shipping to stores late December / early January...in time for winter escapes to sunny destinations.

Hi! My mom has passed down to me a dress from the Sundown collection. I remember her looking chic in it in the 80s, not sure it will look as good on me (I'm now 52...how time flies!). This lovely dress is cira 1980 - 1982 before Simon opened his own company.
Sundown by Simon Chang was a collection of after-five dresses created by Simon for Montreal company Brodkin Industries.
Different from Simon’s career dressing, Sundown was meant for going out for dinner or a night on the town.
There are various online platforms where people buy and sell vintage clothing. ..also great vintage shops.
A vintage fashion piece in perfect condition, might also be of interest to fashion and textile museums for their archives.

Hello! I found this beautiful vintage skirt and I’ve never seen anything quite like it! The problem is it’s way too long and I’m not sure where to start with shortening it. Any advice would be helpful!

Hi Sarah,
It's a lovely skirt, but yes can be a bit complicated to shorten. Besides shortening at the hem, the other option to consider would be shortening from the top. The waistband could be removed and reapplied after removing some length from the top of the skirt. This may require the skills of a dressmaker/tailor if the skirt has darts and a zipper, as they will need to be redone as well. Because the skirt is black it's quite difficult to see the details in the photo, however a dressmaker in person would be able to confirm what method would be easiest.

I just got this gorgeous silk dress! I’m not sure I am wearing it right though. Can you direct me to a photo or description on how it should look when worn correctly? There is a cowl neck, asymmetrical internal liner straps and forms a balloon-type cape on the posterior view.

This lovely silk dress is from Simon’s Spring 2012 collection.
We actually have a photo of this dress in our archives. As you can see in the picture, it’s worn like a simple sheath dress, yet the way it has been draped, creates lovely soft volume in the back giving the dress an elegant silhouette.

I have always loved unique pieces that look like they have a story and I discovered this blazer while out thrifting. It was so unusual I had to pick it up. I have tried to find some information on this piece and when it was made but have had no luck. I am thinking vintage as it has single stitching and looks like it is from the 70’s. That’s a lovely piece you found while thrifting!
We checked our archives and unfortunately we can’t find any specific details for this particular item however, judging by the label we can tell you it was created in the very late 80’s or possibly the very beginning of the 90’s.

I still have, from at least 10 years ago, 3 skirts and a dress from Simon Chang. They have kept their shape and have worn very well after many, many washings. I love the style, the material and search for more like them, although, I now prefer a pull-on, as I am over 70 and find they fit me better:)

Many years ago I hd an entire wardrobe of gorgeous Simon Chang clothing for work.

I recently bought a swim suit for my now much more mature body, and couldn’t believe how beautifully it fit and looked with having to go into stratospheric XXX sizes. Seriously, today’s fashions are ridiculously sized, but Simon Chang you have found a way to make real women look and feel beautiful by staying true to sizes. Thank you so much. Please let me know where I might find more Simon Chang clothing as I love Designer clothes, but I cannot fit into size 6 anymore.

I'm sorry to say that model is no longer in production but in the maritimes you can find Simon Chang's newest pants and jeans at Northern Reflections. Great fit, quality fabrics and good value continue to be important to Simon. We hope you'll find a new style you can enjoy.

We're please you found these Simon Chang jeans and that you love them. This particular style is no longer available but in Alberta you can find Simon Chang jeans at Suzanne's. There are lovely new styles with great fabrics and great fit!

I'm sorry to inform you that this particular style was discontinued in 2020. There are three stores in Toronto that carry Simon Chang: Butter Studio, Cortina Ladies Wear, and also ND Studio. I hope you're able to find a new style to enjoy.

Hello, I have been haunted by a coat I wore and loved since 1998/99. Bought that winter in a dark time, and it kind of saved my life- became a cocoon, and then gave me new strength and joy. I'm not sure, but I believe it was Simon Chang, I seem to recall the black buttons with his name. I had to let it go in 2019, and don't have a picture. Did Simon produce a deep sapphire blue coat with black faux fur collar and cuffs? The fabric had silver dragons, quite subtle. And it had patch pockets. I absolutely loved that coat, and have looked for it, hoping someone has it, and wants to re-sell it. Thankyou for addressing this haunting mystery for me!

This certainly sounds like it may be one of Simon's coats.
He did do a collection with a dragon motif in the textile.

Would love to find more designer plus size swimsuits. Bandeau style seems a good style for larger sizes. I like the classic black bandeau with the 3 beads in front. Can not find too many good quality swim suits , or tankinis for travel. We get older, but still like fashion. Have owned many of your pieces through the years.❤️

Simon doesn't have a specific plus size swimsuit collection however, this year the Simon Chang Solutions newest collection at Winners and Marshalls does feature a great selection of swimwuits for fuller figured women include a great assortment of tankinis.

This jacket is from Simon Chang’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection.
This piece is from the “Boiling Me Softly” collection - all the jackets and coats were create with boiled fabric (50% wool/ 50% polyester).
This beautiful orange jacket was fully lined and featured lovely stone embellishment on the collar.

Are you still making jeans? I haven’t been able to find them in the Vancouver area any more.
Your jeans were the only ones that fit my “bigger hips, smaller waist” figure.
I’m now down to my last pair and would love some new ones.

I bought the most beautiful Simon Chang bed sheets years ago! My Grandmother and I were at the Bay and had to have them. The sheets are blue and white with an amazing decorative print of stars and moons. To this day, I still have the top sheet and one reaming pillowcase! I will not get rid of them ever. They are so soft and special. You sure designed a great set!

I absolutely love Simons clothes. I worked for World Vision in the 80's and did not have a lot of money for clothes, so I wore Simons clothes forever. I had a red Jacket with a black velvet collar, pockets, and bottoms, a blue coat and lots of his jeans. I can see why the Quebec police selected Simon to design their uniforms-always so stylish, and beautifully made. It is hard to find his clothes now, so sad as Simon know how to design clothes that look great on all women. Thank you Simon!!!!

We don't actually see the hat, but judging by the label it's one of Simon's hats from the late 80's. Simon was never a milliner, so when he wanted to design a hat collection to compliment his fashions he partnered with Kates Millenery Ltd., a professional millenery company owned by Mr. Irving Kates and based in downtown Montreal on President Kennedy and Parc Avenue. It was a successful licensing partnership. At that time in fashion, a hat was like the cherry on a sundae!

Hi Lynne,
This is often tricky and not every had bag can be repaired after wear-and-tear, but the best place to inquire is with shoe repair companies.
Shoe repair requires intricate manual dexterity and uses precision equipment along with various adhesives and sealing products which allows them to repair many things other than shoes and boots, ie. Luggage, belts, and handbags.
We don’t actually know companies in Calgary but hopefully you will be able to easily find a local shoe repair.

I have bought my first pair of simon chang pants. I love love them. I would love to be able to buy more in a TALL size. I am 5 ft 10 inches and have a very difficult time finding cute and fashionable pants that are long enough for me!. Would the company make a pair or two for me?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible in commercial manufacturing to adjust an entire production in order to produce one or two longer pairs. Sorry! Hopefully you will enjoy your Simon Chang pants and find other styles where you’re comfortable with the length.

We’ve noticed through the years that the ecommerce platform Poshmark.ca often has Vintage Simon Chang pieces for sale. This might be a good option for you to consider.The other suggestion might be thrift/vintage consignment stores. Quality Vintage pieces are extremely popular these days!

I am 78 years young just now and discovered your talent some 24 years ago.
In 1998 my husband and I were invited to a beautiful resort in Aruba. I needed swimwear. I was a lot younger, had a better shape and not 1tropical looking bathingsuit to my name. I went to the Bay store in my area because I knew they had swimsuits by Sea Queen. I searched. I found your line and BINGO. My favourite was a Raspberry coloured shirred bodice one piece. I got lots of compliments on from my American Friends. Never forgot that and still til this day always look for your designs. I am slightly heavier now (ba ha ha ha) but still look & buy when I do find what I like) Thanks for all you do for us old gals as well as the model typesl as we were one thise girls and still like to have fun.

The line of pants that you made for Laura were (are?) absolute perfection. Even though they were out of my price range I would scour Laura's outlets and pray that I would find my holy grail of pants. A couple of times I got insanely lucky and found pairs at resellers that didn't know what they had. As a tall plus size woman, it is incredibly hard to find pants that not only fit well but are well made from great fabric with awesome detailing. If you are selling them through a different retailer, and have a moment, could you please tell me which one? If you are no longer producing these wonders of fabulous, but thinking of possibly making them again, I hope this message is enough to tip you in the positive direction. :-)
In any event I wanted to thank you for making items that could make the non-skinny girls look great and feel fantastic.
